MEET KALENE

From a young age, it became apparent that Kalene was drawn towards athletics. “Kalene just couldn’t keep her feet on the ground, she had so much energy that I enrolled her in gymnastics at just 3 years old and she fell in love with the sport.” As a result, Kalene went on to compete and coach gymnastics for over 13 years.
Her true passion for fitness was born in 2004. “I would walk into the gym and make a bee line for the cardio section, where I would plant my (flat) butt on a treadmill, because I was intimidated by the weight room. One day, a good friend of mine Rolando Amorim, a personal trainer and highly decorated natural bodybuilder, approached me and said, “You should compete in a fitness show, you have the frame for it, let me train you and if you feel confident step on stage.” I honestly think I peered over my shoulder to make sure he was talking to me! But I’ve never been one to back down from a challenge, so I thought why the heck not!? There was something so infectious about his energy and endless positivity that I started to believe in myself the way he believed in me. After months of grueling training, I stepped on stage at the 2004 USBF New England Naturals competition and placed 2nd in my weight class and 1st for overall best poser! I still find it amazing how one person can change the whole course of your life. If it wasn’t for Rolando’s encouragement, I don’t know if fitness is the road I would have traveled down. Every day I wake up with an intention to pay it forward. I hope that I can have such a profound influence on someone’s life as he had on mine.”
From that first competition, Kalene’s passion for fitness was born and in an effort to share her enthusiasm for athletics, she earned her Personal Training Certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2005, the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in 2015 and after 8 years of practicing yoga, traveled to Nosara, Costa Rica in 2013 to earn her Yoga Certification with The Yoga Paradigm, under the guidance of Ashley Ludman and Rebecca Kovacs, a world-traveled apprentice of Sri Dharma Mittra.
Kalene enjoyed her personal training career at a variety of different health clubs and eventually took the leap to start her own company, No Excuses Fitness and Boot Camp, now known as Sweat and Flow, a company focused on personal training that comes to you, worldwide Skype personal training, program designs and nutrition.
Kalene draws upon her background in gymnastics, fitness and yoga to create programs that are tailored to a client’s busy lifestyle, goal oriented and challenging. She brings endless amounts of energy to every session and truly cares about her client’s success. Her philosophy; “I want my clients to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them. I am their biggest cheerleader! Their goals become my goals! I get no greater pleasure than helping men and women succeed at being the best versions of themselves."

MEET THE MR & OUR LIL' MR!

Kalene, Drew and baby Cash are a family that practices what they preach. Leading a fit and healthy lifestyle is something they are truly passionate about.
Like most kids, Drew grew up immersed in sports, which led to playing collegiate soccer and eventually becoming a Division I Director of Strength and Conditioning at just 23 years old, making him the youngest Director of a Strength and Conditioning collegiate program in the nation at the time.
Drew brings with him an undergraduate degree in Health and Exercise Physiology and a Master’s degree in Science. “Kalene has opened my eyes to the need for a mind/body connection, the benefits of yoga and how that can be built into more traditional strength and conditioning programs. Combining our styles has resulted in a progressive way of reaching our fitness goals.”
